First Thursdays in the Park

First Thursdays in the Park

April 24, 2019

Imagine….it’s a cool Spring evening and you are sitting in your lawn chair at Heritage Park in the historic downtown Conroe. You are listening to a cover band play George Strait’s “Stars on the Water” (or perhaps you prefer listening to Hotel California by the Eagles). If you’re imagining that you’ve brought the “cold one” that’s in your hand, that’s where you’ll have to stop.. Sorry - no outside alcohol. BEER AND CONCESSIONS AVAILABLE ONSITE. WHEW… THAT WAS A CLOSE ONE, I KNOW.  Anyway - back to our dream.. You’re sitting on the lawn with your significant other or family, enjoying the music and unwinding from the day!

This isn’t just a daydream! The City of Conroe’s Parks and Rec department has a free concert series that is held every first Thursday in months April through September. It’s a great way to meet people in the community and listen to great live music. It even coincides with the Isaac Conroe Farmer’s Market (you can find information about that online or in another blog that I’ve written).
