My Community!

July 23, 2019

I'm super excited about this particular blog because I get to dote on the community that I love. As you may know by now, Grand Central Park has it all:

  • The best amenities (currently and forthcoming)
  • The best builders and our Director of Fun is second to none.
  • But what about the people of Grand Central Park… you know, the community itself?

Before I go any further it is important to note that, according to one of the definitions in Webster's dictionary community is defined as a unified body of individuals: such as the people with common interests living in a particular area. I’m pretty sure Grand Central Park is listed somewhere on there! All kidding aside, the residents of Grand Central Park put the community in community! Our common interests are that we live in and love the same neighborhood and you can’t ask for more….it’s that simple. We don’t care if you’re a cat lover, a dog mom, if you’re on the blue team or the red team. Some people are single, married, business owners, retired; everyone is just friendly. There is a real genuine sense of caring in GCP. It’s true, what we care about is each other, getting out in the middle of the street (ok so it was a cul-de-sac), sharing a dish and adult beverage and being social.

That’s exactly what we did on July 3rd. One neighbor suggested it while yours truly said, hey--- that’s a great idea. Flyers were made, messages were sent and those who could and wanted to join us did! It was the perfect pre- July 4th celebration. It was all about a community coming together and catching up. If you don’t know your neighbors, have a “pop-up block party” like we did. People want to get together. They want to be neighborly! All it takes is a flyer and a few messages. An added bonus are a couple of yard games and tables to set the food on! We look forward to doing this again in the very near future. You’ve heard the saying that a family that plays together stays together, right? Well, I’d like to mix it up. A community that comes together stays together. Get out, meet your neighbor. You’ll be glad you did! In case I haven’t said it lately, I <3 GCP.
