The Light Park: Must See!

The Light Park: Must See!

December 09, 2020

When is it officially the holiday season in your house? Is it when the Christmas tree is up? Or when the Thanksgiving meal has been devoured? For our house, it’s officially Christmas when we’ve watched my favorite Christmas movie, Die Hard. Ok, I’m kidding... I only mention Die Hard because there’s a great debate on whether or not it’s even a Christmas movie! I digress! My favorite [Christmas] movie is Elf. I never get tired of watching it! My favorite scene is when Buddy sees Santa for the first time at the mall. Such a classic!!!

I don’t know about you, but it seems like Christmas came early this year. What I mean by that is everywhere I looked (thank you, social media), I saw people posting pictures of their Christmas tree and this was BEFORE Thanksgiving. Growing up, the tree never went up until after Thanksgiving! However, I think we can all agree that the joy and magic of the Christmas season is so very needed especially with the year we’ve had. I can’t think of a greater joy than to see lights on a tree. Lights in general can brighten the darkest of times both figuratively and literally. That’s why I’m so excited to write about The Light Park located in Spring. If you go to Hurricane Harbor Splash Town then you’ve gone to the right place  because that’s exactly where it’s located.

The Light Park is an animated drive through light show. Once in the park, people can tune into a designated radio station for “entertaining banter and a mix of holiday music.” Sounds fun, right? They’ve even got Christmas carol trivia posted at various locations throughout the park.

There are some things to note about The Light Park:

  • They ARE open EVERY night even on Holidays, weather permitting (updates can be found on their website - thelightpark.com).
  • Fee to enter the park is only $45 per vehicle.
  • Tickets must be purchased in advance online.
  • No limos, buses, RVs, or trailers.
  • Hours of operation are 5:30 - 10:00 p.m.
  • Open now through December 31st!

I can’t think of a better way to brighten the holidays than to go to The Light Park. It’s exactly 17 miles from Grand Central Park! Cheers to having a joyous and magical Christmas!
