WE’RE GIVING THANKS FOR YOU At this time of year, we can’t help but give thanks for you — our first “explorers.” To quote a well-known TV series, you boldly went where no one had gone before, and now there are approximately 90 residents living in Grand Central Park, enjoying beautiful homes surrounded by the forest. It’s been a busy year for you as you’ve settled into your new home and for us, as we’ve developed a trail system, welcomed new models, seen builders begin construction of more than 70 homes and planned large-scale events such as our grand opening Jamboree and Bark in the Park. We’ve also watched 336 Marketplace take shape, and residents will soon have shopping, dining and other conveniences right outside their door. Along with being Grand Central Park pilgrims, you’ve also been trendsetters, as Conroe was named the fastest growing city in the nation this year. What 10 years ago was called a “sleepy, semi-rural town” is now being lauded for its authenticity, low cost of living and access to Lake Conroe. But we don’t have to tell you that — you’ve already discovered this… and the luxury of living in Conroe’s premier master-planned community — Grand Central Park. Thank you for joining us on this adventure and becoming our first explorers! We are throwing it back to old-fashioned holiday fun Wednesday, Dec. 6, during the Holly Jolly Holiday Event. Visit the Lake House 5-8 p.m. to sip hot cocoa, pet reindeer and take photos with Santa. We’re giving away travel mugs to keep the cocoa hot, and you’ll be able to shop for the holidays from local vendors. While you’re at the reindeer petting zoo, make sure to pick up some reindeer food to feed Rudolph and the gang on Christmas Eve. Santa’s elves will be helping out serving iced sugar cookies, milk, ham and savory sides. Plus, we’ll have some specialty holiday beverages for the adults. Kiddos attending can enjoy a holiday movie screened on a jumbotron. This event is for both residents and Realtors, so if you’d like to invite the agent who helped in the sale of your home, feel free! Our hike for hounds was tail-wagging fun for all involved as 275 dogs plus their owners walked the trails of Grand Central Park during Bark in the Park. The event included a canine-friendly 1-mile or 2.5-mile walk along the community’s nature trails. Afterward, hikers were invited to stay for a “paw-ty” that included a pup kissing booth, a variety of pet peddlers, face painting, a bounce house and food trucks. Pooches paraded their finest outfits in the doggie costume contest and performances by the Houston Disc Dogs showcased canines’ amazing athleticism. And while everyone was having a doggone good time, we managed to raise funds for Operation Pets Alive, a non-profit, all- volunteer organization that works to reduce the number of cats and dogs entering shelters and promotes the No-Kill movement. Thanks to everyone for coming out and watch for upcoming events, including one happening in December!
