Both conversation and wine were flowing during our first resident event, a meet-and-greet held in late June. About 30 residents who attended spent time talking with neighbors and sharing their experiences living in Grand Central Park. To commemorate the occasion, we had everyone sign a wood coaster that will be repurposed into an art piece to hang in the pavilion. (We’re still figuring it out, but promise it will be fun!) The meet-and-greet was just the beginning. Get out your calendars to save dates for upcoming resident events and encourage your neighbors to come along. We’ll send out eblasts with further who-what-where-when details. October 5 — A Grandeur Experience u November 28 — Holiday Event See you out and about in Grand Central Park! If you haven’t been receiving our resident emails, contact amandam@johnsondev.com to be added to the list. Construction at 336 Marketplace has gone vertical, and if you’ve been trying to figure out what businesses are coming in, we’re here to help. Five major tenants have been announced — Kroger Marketplace, HomeGoods, Ross, Marshalls and Michaels. The 125,000-square-foot Kroger Marketplace store, scheduled to open in early 2018, will emphasize an interactive customer experience with natural and organic foods, chef-prepared meal solutions and ethnic and gourmet food choices. The store is also planning to offer a pharmacy and a selection of wines and beers. HomeGoods, offering home fashions from around the world, the arts and crafts specialty retailer Michaels, and Ross department store are slated to open in 336 Marketplace in the first quarter of 2018. The new HomeGoods store will span 42,000 square feet, Ross will span 25,000 square feet, and Michaels will occupy 21,000 square feet. With a total of 700,000 square feet of retail space, 336 Marketplace will be home to many more stores and restaurants. Watch for updates soon! Hike, jog, bike or simply stroll through the woods — the choice is yours, now that miles of resident-only trails are open throughout Grand Central Park. Paved pathways through the West Village connect with The Grandeur — nature trails and paved roadways that traverse the community. Hike the nature trail to the 88-acre Grand Lake where you can cast a line and then take the 1-mile loop around the Lake House. It’s your choice if you want to jog or bike J.P. White Road to a 2.25-mile loop down to Deer Lake. Make sure to bring along some binoculars for birdwatching along the route. If you don’t have time for the full trail, there are several parking areas where you can take the car for a head start on your walk. Stop by our information locations to pick up your trail map to stay on the right track. Remember to both watch and respect wildlife. Don’t feed the cute little critters — they have all they need in the forest. Feel free to bring along your own pups, but remember to always keep them leashed. Trails are open from dawn to dusk. Make sure to bring lots of water, leave only footprints and experience the adventure of The Grandeur — one of the many perks of living in Grand Central Park.
