GeoTour? Yes please!!!

February 03, 2019

During the Christmas holidays, I got to go on a Christmas Light scavenger hunt. Who knew there was such a thing! There were several of us and we were divided up into teams of 3 people and we set out in cars and drove through nearby neighborhoods. It was so much fun because we were on a mission to find certain items in yards like a house with nothing but red lights, or a yard with disney characters in it, a yard containing an angel, Rudolph, snow globe (a snow globe, really? Who has a snow globe in their yard, yeah - we didn’t find that one). It was so much fun! I tell you this because it was fun to venture out on a “search and find” event. For those of you who love history and current events, and love scavenger hunts - then you’ve got to check out the Visit Conroe GeoTour. Seriously! It’s a great way to get out (literally leave the house), explore Conroe AND Montgomery County by looking for treasures. Folks, I’m talking about bonafide “geocaching”! It’s not for the faint of heart. Who remembers David Vetter, the “Boy in the Bubble”? One of the caches takes you to his grave site. Did you know that he is buried right here in Conroe? His story is so interesting. I would tell you more, but I don’t to ruin it for you. By doing the GeoTour, you’ll learn lots of neat and interesting facts! The Visit Conroe GeoTour has 32 caches in total and at the end you could earn a coveted geocoin. It’s not a tour that will be done in one day or even one week unless you’re really ambitious, so it can keep you busy. It’s a great activity for people of all ages. If you’re not sure what geocaching is exactly, no need to worry- all of the information you need to get started can be found by going to https://www.geocaching.com/play/geotours/visit-conroe.  Please let me know if you participate in the GeoTour. I would love to hear your thoughts on the tour!
