The Cynthia Woods Pavilion

The Cynthia Woods Pavilion

August 28, 2019

Name this tune… “But I won't cry for yesterday. There's an ordinary world. Somehow I have to find and as I try to make my way to the ordinary world. I will learn to survive.

How’d you do? Did you guess the song? That would be lyrics from Duran Duran, Ordinary World; talk about a blast from the past! I remember it like it was yesterday, seeing Duran Duran in concert at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. I think I was five (okay I'm just kidding about being five). I was probably 16 or 17, man I was trying to protect my age! Do you remember the first concert you went to? What about the last concert you went to? If you're like me and you've got a concert itch, look no further than the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion! And to think, it's so close to Grand Central Park! They always have a great lineup. I encourage you to get out and catch a concert sometime. Not all admissions have fees either. Did you know there is free seating available at the Performing Arts events which can include The Houston Symphony, Houston Ballet and Houston Grand Opera. Although if Orchestra-level seating to all Houston Ballet & Houston Grand Opera Performances, reserved parking, access to the Woodforest Bank Club and the opportunity to meet musicians and or speak with the conductor suits you, then a subscription may be more of your thing. It’s just $200 for the season!

For a full lineup, check out The Pavillion’s website. Below are a few of upcoming events.

  • August 29, 2019 - Houston Symphony: Indiana Jones and The Raiders of the Lost Ark - Film with Orchestra
  • September 7, 2019 - Chris Young with Chris Janson & Locash
  • September 11, 2019 - Houston Symphony: A Symphony of Heroes
  • September 21, 2019 - Peter Frampton with Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening
  • September 22, 2019 - Iron Maiden with the Raven Age
  • September 27, 2019 - Game of Thrones - Live Concert Experience, music by Ramin Djawadi

I don't know about you, music is very near and dear to my heart! When I listen to certain songs I’m reminded of special events that have occurred within my life! Hopefully this blog will stir something within you to go catch your favorite band to reminisce about the days of old or to go and make new memories. See you at The Pavilion!!!
