National Night Out in GCP
September 24, 2019
Have I mentioned lately how much I love living in Grand Central Park! We have the best Director of Fun and her name is Doris. Not only does she coordinate fun community events, but she is a proponent of safety. And not just the safety of Grand Central Park --- but everyone city wide! As you know, a couple of ways we stay safe is through local law enforcement and emergency responders. I am so very grateful for these unsung heroes, aren’t you? This is why I'm excited about the upcoming National Night Out that is going to take place on Tuesday, October 1st at 336 Marketplace in the Kroger parking lot. It’s presented by the City of Conroe and Grand Central Park. National Night Out is an annual community building Campaign that promotes police-community partnership and neighborhood camaraderie. Yes, please!! It’s going to be a great opportunity to shake a first responder’s hand, say thank you and ask questions about what they do in their day-to-day job! Last year’s National Night Out was so educational. I enjoyed going on the SWAT bus and learning about how they handle crises. Talk about an intense, but very important job! I have so much respect and admiration for all emergency response personnel.
In case you’re wondering who will be at National Night Out, check out this amazing line-up:
People all over the USA participate in National Night Out, including military bases. Yes! My source tells me neighborhoods host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and various other community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, kid friendly events, visits from emergency personnel, exhibits and more. As you can see, this is a BIG deal and I hope to see you at this FREE family friendly event on Tuesday, October 1st from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Kroger 336 Marketplace.
