Designed with modern medical education in mind, the facility features advanced simulation labs, collaborative learning spaces, and specialized clinical instruction areas. The expansion comes at a critical time for Texas, which continues to face a growing shortage of healthcare workers, particularly nurses and allied health professionals. By expanding its educational programs and training capacity, Sam Houston State University is helping address workforce needs while strengthening healthcare access across the region. Another advantage for students is the building’s proximity to hospitals, medical offices, and healthcare facilities throughout the Conroe and Montgomery County area. Being close to active healthcare networks will provide valuable opportunities for clinical rotations, partnerships, and hands-on training. Classes will begin this summer of 2026. Grand Central Park is proud to be home to Sam Houston State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine and its expanding campus. The addition of the Health Professions Building further strengthens the community’s role as a center for education, innovation, and healthcare advancement in Montgomery County. We congratulate the university on this exciting milestone and look forward to seeing the positive impact these future healthcare professionals will bring to our region. |
