Get a Taste of New York April 28

Get a taste of the buzz and excitement that is the Big Apple at Grand Central Park from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 28.

We are hosting a free New York City-style street fair complete with street performers, food and fun at the new Lennar model home, 134 Moon Dance Pond.

Start your morning with the high-kicking enthusiasm of The Woodland Highsteppers who will be onsite with performances of a Rockettes-style show from 10 a.m. to noon. Beginning at 11 a.m., see if you can make our Statue of Liberty living statue move, enjoy live saxophone music and chow down on Russo’s New York Pizzeria pizza while supplies last.

Throughout the day, enjoy tunes spun by DJ Chico, be amazed by a magician’s feats of prestidigitation and view beautiful chalk art by Conroe artist Lynn Peverill. Children can blow off steam in a Spiderman-themed bounce house and get decorated by face painters.

Since no visit to New York would be complete without street food, Miss Mary’s Happy Hotdogs will be on site. Cotton candy and lemonade also will be available.

Our builders will be getting in on the fun by hosting food and activities in our 11 beautiful model homes. Stop by for New York-style pretzels, a build-your-own popcorn bar, Segway rides, Grizzaffi Coffee and a digital photo booth. Inspired to visit the real City That Never Sleeps? Parking is free and a shuttle will take you to the fun. RSVP to take part in the festivities.

Our event is one of the final opportunities to live like a native in a Johnson Development community during the April Drools Home Tour. Houston’s largest home tour offers the public an opportunity to visit 170 model homes and nearly 500 inventory homes in Johnson Development communities across the Houston area throughout April. Homes will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and noon to 6 p.m. Sundays. Admission is free.
